Tip: Mamas of Zanzibar is best combined with a stone town tour. We wont recommend to go to spice tour after mamas as after a heavy meal it can get tiring walking on the farm. :)

Hi there :)
My name is Maskat I am a Zanzibar born in Pemba, the sister island of Unguja, the neighbouring Island which together with Unguja makes Zanzibar.
I started Mamas of Zanzibar after a personal life change experience forcing me to move around and starting a new life in Bububu. When I started Mamas of Zanzibar I was then employed and was earning a salary so it was with full intentions to help my fellow Zanzibar Mamas who had no means of income to support their own personal daily needs. I wanted to design a way that will empower and provide a meaningful experience to travellers and meet both ends.
I am a single mother of 3 (which you might encounter when you come) passionate and proud of being a Zanzibari.
I enjoy practicing my culture norms and after working and studying in the hospitality industry for 15years, meeting all type of peoples/travellers. I have grown more passionate about my own culture and noticed how special it is to embrace it.
I highly believe that people travel to have new experience, new life, new connections. Thus I have personally designed a itinerary that will help the travellers of Zanzibar to connect to the local people and experience it via a local eyes.
I wish you to connect to us Zanzibari return home with more then just the images of beautiful resorts and beaches... but with also a feeling of connection to the warmth hospitality of the authentic people of Zanzibar.
I really hope this experience opens your eyes about Zanzibar and Africa, and of course enjoy the meal we prepare together and simple have a fun Day!
I want to personally thank you in advance for your interest in this initiative in supporting the locals Mamas of Zanzibar - it means so much to us.
Karibu sana - your very welcomed
Maskat
